Still Point Interfaith Retreat Center, located in upstate NY, just minutes from downtown Saratoga, is open during the year for  private retreats, a day of quiet and prayer, group or staff retreats, youth retreats, business retreats and church groups.  At this time we cannot accommodate overnight retreats for groups with more than 5 people. There  are 5 fully winterized hermitages (cabins) nestled in the woods along with a large facility, The Welcoming House, for groups.

We offer several packages  for individuals who want silence and solitude: $75 per night with food included (2 meals are pick-up and 1 meal is prepared  for you.) or $55 per night when you provide your own food. You may decide to stay in the cabin (#3) which has no shower (Yes, there is a toilet and sink with  running water in that cabin!) This cabin 'rents' for $70 or $50 per night, (depending on whether or not you provide your own food). Those who rent that cabin use the large handicap accessible shower in the Welcoming House...a short walk from cabin (hermitage) #3.  The least expensive package is $50 per night: rent cabin #3 and  provide your own food.

We now offer 3 rooms in the Welcoming House for those who do not wish to walk to and from a cabin. There are 2 small rooms with a single bed and night stand and 1 room with a futon which pulls out to make the equivalent of a double bed. All 3 rooms have doors which connect to the larger eating and lounge area. These are available at $65 with food included and $45 per night when you provide your own food.

Take 24 hours from your busy schedule. Come to one of our heated cabins this winter. Pray!

Be silent. “The quieter you become, the more you hear.”

                                                   A Word From The Co-Directors

Sr. Anne and Rowena had the pleasure and challenge of singing in the recent "Mamma Mia! Opera for Mothers and Others" concert with the Battenkill Chorale under the direction of Janet McGhee. It was, we were told by various audience members, a wonderful experience; it certainly was that for us singers as well.

We have come to regard this group as not only a talented singing group but as a community as well. The variety of people who sing with the Chorale is amazing, from studied vocalist to enthusiastic but musically challenged! There are singers who cannot read music and those who sight read. When it comes to concert time, however, there is little distinction as the ONE VOICE rises and blends the virtuoso with the shaky tremolo.

What makes the group a community is the vision held first and foremost by the Artistic Director, Janet McGhee and by many members of the Chorale. There is room for all in this group; criticism of each other is not welcomed in this milieu. Musical judgment and correction lie with Janet alone. Members gather not only for rehearsals and performances but also for funerals and festivities. The strata of society are blended as the gatherings of the Chorale open always to others.

We honor this vision of the Battenkill Chorale. In our war-torn and highly divided world, it is essential that such a vision be held and lived. It is a guiding light for those of lesser tolerance. "Where there is no vision the people perish." May we live a similar vision of community where every person of good will is honored for their uniqueness regardless of the path they choose. The ONENESS then comes about in the many just as the ONE VOICE rises from within the Chorale.
